Blackhawks reporter accidentally reveals the next number to be retired?
Mark Lazerus of The Athletic posted something curious about Chris Chelios's jersey retirement today.
In his post, he showed what the set pieces will look like for Chelio's jersey retirement.
He just dropped a tiny little truth bomb about one of the team's long-time defensemen who retired in 2021.
It was mentioned that the set pieces could be repurposed and used in the future if the team decides to retire Brent Seabrook's jersey, the former alternate captain for the Blackhawks dynasty in the 2010's.
2021 marked Seabrook's retirement from the NHL after 15 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks.
During his time with the Blackhawks, Seabrook won three Stanley Cups, scored 103 goals, assisted 361 times, and collected 464 points.
After Chris Chelios, Seabrook would be the ideal choice for the next Blackhawks player to be memorialized by the club.
