Blackhawks reveal reconstructed lineup before face off vs Oilers Saturday

Tonight the Blackhawks will face off against Connor McDavid and the former Stanley Cup contenders, the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers are 3rd in the Pacific Division, have a record of 25-13-3, and will take on a Blackhawks team that has Connor Bedard on a 9-game point streak.

Interim Coach Anders Sorensen has adjusted the lineup to match up with one of the NHL's best teams.

Tonight, the lineup will look slightly different from January the 9th.

Instead of Ryan Donato sharing a line with Philipp Kurashev( scratched) and Pat Maroon, Taylor Hall is on the left wing tonight.

While Nick Foligno will find a new linemate in Teuvo Teravainen tonight, instead of Taylor Hall on the left.

Colton Dach remains on Frank Nazar's left, but, Lukas Reichel will be on his right instead.

That's a lot of moving pieces from the lineup on the 9th which saw the Blackhawks give up 5 goals to the Detroit Red Wings.

It's easy to see why Anders Sorensen has broken up the lineup, considering the effort wasn't all there last game.

Instead of Petr Mrazek in the crease, we get to see Arvid Soderblom who has proven himself an excellent stalwart in the net. Soderblom's record this season: 6-10-1, 2.92 GAA, and a .905 save percentage.

While Philipp Kurashev will be scratched tonight against an Oilers team the Blackhawks must guard against.

Under Luke Richardson, the team was able to stifle McDavid, Draisaitl and the other Oilers weapons to defeat them 5-2 on October 12th.

With Alec Martinez back in the fold the question remains: can they shut down the Oilers?

We'll see.

The Blackhawks have a record of 14-26-2 and 8th in the Central, a win tonight could build their confidence against top-teams in the NHL.
