Blackhawks veteran gets angry at management during interview
Veteran players on the Chicago Blackhawks haven't been happy with the team lately, for various reasons of course.
One of those, unhappy with the team's current state, is Seth Jones, who arrived in 2021, expecting to win.
With quickness, the judgment cast down upon Stan Bowman and his authority and future with the organization was null and void.
Lo and behold, Jones was caught in the perfect storm of a new regime, as he had a new GM, Head Coach, and front office.
During exit interviews, this led to him lashing out at the current management of the Blackhawks.
"«I didn't really want a rebuild when I left Columbus,» Jones said. «When you're my age or Nick's age, you want to win, and it's frustrating when you're not able to do [anything] about it. Obviously, there's different expectations when it comes to management and when it comes to players. We want to see results now. We're not as patient as they are. We don't play this game forever. They're in the game a lot longer than we are.
«I would tell management today, Go sign a bunch of free agents.' Or, Go do this, go do that.' But it's not up to us.»
While we understand his qualms and concerns with the current state of the Chicago Blackhawks, he may not have a chance to win now, but he can help shape future winners.
It seems likely though, he will continue to yell into the void until Kyle Davidson decides to honor his statement with a trade.
It seems that he is communicating through the media, which is already a toxic way of doing business, alternate captain or not.
Seth Jones has plenty of playoff experience to impart from obviously isn't willing to be a mentor or share the tricks of the trade it sounds like.
