One Blackhawks player who has been garnering a lot of interest lately has been the Blackhawks' own, stay-at-home defenseman Connor Murphy.
Murphy could be a solution for many teams on the right side, and with the Carolina Hurricanes having multiple UFAs going to market soon, in Brett Pesce, Jalen Chatfield, and Tony DeAngelo, it's likely the team will look elsewhere.
The playoff contenders, the Dallas Stars could be vying for the attention of Connor Murphy. As in the off-season, they don't win a cup and won't be able to extend Chris Tanev, he could be a right-shot defenseman who would be a great bottom-pairing solution, along with his skills on the penalty kill.
The New Jersey Devils 2023-2024 season, exposed a lot of weaknesses in the defense and goal-tending. They could use Murphy on the right side and as a shutdown defenseman close one gap in the team's armor.
Since two of the three teams are contenders, Kyle Davidson should use this to his leverage and maximize the value for someone like Murphy to keep fueling the rebuild.
