Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson decided to show some tough love towards Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen as he has not shown consistency in his game by benching him during overtime.

Teravainen's start with the Blackhawks over the last 12 games has not gone as well as he'd hoped. He has only scored three goals with four assists for seven points and is a - 6. During this game he only had 12 minutes 18 seconds of ice time which is a significant drop from the game before where he had 20 minutes and 22 seconds. He also did not see any ice time during the power plays for the Blackhawks.

Over his last five games, he has no points and is a - 3.

During the summer, general manager Kyle Davidson chose to sign Teravainen as he would help bring more offence to the Blackhawks game since he scored 25 goals in 53 points for 76 games last year with the Carolina Hurricanes.
He also signed a three-year contract that was worth $16.2 million holding the cap hit 5.4 million over the next three years.

Tensions have been running high with the Blackhawks these days as fans and players have been hoping the Blackhawks would snap out of their losing streak which they did after defeating the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in overtime. Even being outshot 40-21, the Blackhawks found a way to win the game on the road which is a small step forward.

The Blackhawks will now head down the road in Los Angeles to take on the Anaheim Ducks. It will be the second game of a back-to-back and game time will be today November 3rd at 8:00 PM eastern.
