The Blackhawks didn't only offer an entry-level contract to Artyom Levshunov, they're trying to lock down more prospects.

As they offered an ELC to Boston University forward Ryan Greene, but the forward would turn it down and return to BU for his junior year in the NCAA.

Blackhawks notebook on Nick Foligno's recruiting, Tyler Bertuzzi's contract length, Ryan Greene's return to BU and a bunch of prospect updates and tidbits:

It sounds like, he wants to continue to develop his game in the NCAA, prior to turning pro.

«Was he ready for the pros? Could he have taken that step? I think he could have, yeah and we told him that,» Hawks assistant GM Mark Eaton said. «But with his character and work ethic [in a] good spot at BU, he's going to find ways to get better there, as well.»

But Mark Eaton believes the forward could've turned pro should he wanted to, but it sounds like Greene has unfinished business in the NCAA.

With Macklin Celebrini signing with the San Jose Sharks, he has a goal to turn around BU's fortunes and this time win in the Frozen Four.

«Losing in the Frozen Four, it still stings,» he said. «I still really can't fully forget it. There's definitely a revenge factor a little bit. You want to get another crack at that and hopefully win a national championship.»

It's likely in his return to Boston University he'll return on the Terriers top line, with Celebrini's departure.

During his freshman year in BU, he scored 31 points in 38 games, while during his sophomore year, tallying 36 points in 40 games.

He sounds ready to win it all and will return to the NCAA hungry and with purpose.
