Many have felt that the Blackhawks appeared to be better under Anders Sorensen And he has had a positive impact especially with the younger players coming up from Rockford.
Brodie has been trending downward and has not looked like the player they wanted since they signed him.
Ben Pope, who writes for the Blackhawks has stated that he had a tough October but appeared to have fixed his game in November and now is struggling again with Sorensen.
His career has been going down a slow spiral after he was drafted in 2008 with the Calgary Flames, fourth round 114th pick overall, he spent his first ten years with the Flames and then signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
At first, he appeared to be a good choice 5 Maple Leafs but just a few years into his contract his game worsened and the Maple Leafs were looking to move him in any way possible.
Through 29 games with the Blackhawks this year, he has scored two goals with six assists for eight points and is a - 10.
With a year and a half left of his contract, it's been widely reported that he will likely be a buy-out candidate at the end of the year as the Blackhawks may not find a
suitor for his services at the March trade deadline.
Players like Kevin Korchinski who are trying to make the team on a regular basis and have shown that they can do so are slowly pushing him out of the lineup and it's likely that if his game continues to be poor, it's possible that TJ Brodie may be a healthy scratch.
Time will tell on what will happen next but it's safe to say that the head coach is watching his game and making notes on whether he should remain in the lineup or take a seat.
