EA Sports did this thing with their NHL 24 video game where they pretended Connor Bedard's career was already over. If you're curious, here's what they came up with:
In their make-believe world, Bedard played 1,701 games and ended up being the 7th best player ever. He scored 844 goals (2nd best), made 1,107 assists (8th best), and got a total of 1,951 points (2nd best).
In this pretend universe, Bedard won 5 awards for scoring the most goals in a single season (Rocket Richard trophy), got 6 awards for having the most points in a season (Art Ross trophy), and got 5 awards for being the best player in a season (Hart Trophy).
They also made up that he won 5 more awards for being super awesome in a single season (Ted Lindsay trophy) and 3 awards for being the best in the playoffs (Conn Smythe trophy). On top of all that, he won 3 Stanley Cups, making him a total legend.
Now, this is all just a game pretending to predict the future. We'll have to wait and see if Bedard's real career comes close to what the game said.
For now, let's just enjoy watching him do his thing in his first season, where he already has 30 points from scoring 13 goals and helping with 17 assists. It's a cool start, and who knows how far he'll go in the real deal.
