The Chicago Blackhawks will likely be sellers at the trade deadline, but they could attempt to secure 100-point Vancouver Canucks forward, JT Miller.
With the Vancouver Canucks locker room in turmoil as
Elias Pettersson and JT Miller's spat has become public, the team will have to resolve the issue.
This is to maintain a positive environment in the locker room and to give someone like Elias Pettersson room to grow in a way that benefits his game, and personality.
While we shouldn't expect the Chicago Blackhawks to become Stanley Cup contenders overnight, the current team as it's constructed could be improved, and there's rumors buzzing that the Canucks are listening in on bother Miller and Pettersson.
Someone like that could be available as there is a chance that the Vancouver Canucks trade
J.T. Miller. They are not sellers. They are likely going to be a playoff team. However, there is legit locker room drama that may force Miller out
Since Elias Pettersson is only 26, it is a safe bet that they will keep the young center as a result of long-term plans. While the team could move Miller, which would involve convincing him to waive his no-trade clause.
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman feels that the Blackhawks are a team that could acquire JT Miller.
On his podcast "32 Thoughts", Elliotte Friedman mentioned the Blackhawks as a team that he "likes" when it comes to acquiring Miller.
The current crop of veterans the Blackhawks have on the roster aren't equipped to complement
Connor Bedard, compared to someone like Miller.
If Elliotte Friedman is onto something with this feeling of his, it would be a great move for the Blackhawks and Miller. He needs a change of scenery and the Hawks need another good NHL player to insert into the lineup, especially one like J.T. Miller who is a high-end talent in all three zones.
While his cap hit is an affordable $8 Million AAV, GM Kyle Davidson could figure out which veterans to move in order to keep the salary cap flexible enough for the rebuild to continue and add Miller.
This season the forward has scored 25 points(6 G, 19 A) in 28 games with Vancouver Canucks.
