Newest member of the Chicago Blackhawks issues exclusive statement
The Chicago Blackhawks along with other Chicago sports teams are releasing their own broadcast network called the Chicago Sports Network, leaving NBC Sports.
Well, people have predicted that a change would be made in the booth, and there was, with the Blackhawks kicking out Chris Vosters and tossing Rick Ball into the booth.
Vosters was criticized by nearly everyone who watched the NBC Sports network, and was wanted gone after the first season he announced.
Ball, however, comes in with a lot of respect and experience. In 1995, Ball got his first play calling opportunity with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. He then subbed in to call play-by-play for the Vancouver Canucks in the 2001 season in his first NHL role. He then got a full time job in 2008 with the Canucks.
In 2014, he got on with the Calgary Flames, where he worked there for a decade. Now, he's with the Blackhawks.
we're ready to have a ball with Ball
Ball should add a refreshing new taste to the broadcast boost this upcoming season.
