Connor Bedard has an incredible eight-game point streak with four goals and seven assists. His current point streak also happens to lead the NHL and it also happens to be his career high.
Bedard is in his sophomore season and is experiencing a «sophomore slump» at the moment but he's currently working himself out of it.
Ever since Anders Sorensen came in on December 5th, Connor has taken off. Since December 7th, Bedard has 18 points with six goals.
He's also taken off with his new linemate Tyler Bertuzzi, who he should've been with a long time ago. Bertuzzi and Bedard work a lot of magic on the first line and find each other often. Ilya Mikheyev has been going off recently too, scoring a couple goals.
Luke Richardson struggled to find something that worked for Bedard especially since Philipp Kurashev, his linemate from last year, took a step back and has been scratched. Sorensen came in and found something that worked for Connor and it's refreshing to see.
Not only can Bedard shoot the puck, but he's a playmaker as well, and can create good chances with nice passes, like we've seen in his junior days.
Connor has finally found his stride and can hopefully pick it up even more and continue to work with what he's got, and granted, it isn't much. But he's just that good that he can be a first-line center at 19 years old and make it work, because these last few games, it's been working.
Bedard at 19 years old is still developing and with a better team around him will be an elite player and lead the Blackhawks to great things.
