The Chicago Blackhawks have found their second line goal-scoring forward
The Chicago Blackhawks have been busy making moves and setting the stage for an exciting season, but rookie Frank Nazar's potential impact might be flying under the radar.
After signing his first NHL contract post his season at the University of Michigan, Nazar played his first three games for the Blackhawks, averaging 16 minutes on the ice and scoring once.
He showed he could keep up with the pace and skill of the NHL, scoring in his first ever NHL game.
Chicago has seen big improvements with additions like Teuvo Teravainen, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Taylor Hall, creating a competitive top-six forward group.
While veterans like Jason Dickinson and Nick Foligno are in the mix for these spots, Nazar's talent makes him a strong contender for a top 6 role.
Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson has emphasized that every player has an equal chance to make the team from training camp. Despite being less experienced, Nazar's offensive skills could see him completing Chicago's top-six lineup soon, provided he can prove himself in any initial stint in the minors or when other opportunities arise.
