The Chicago Blackhawks are turning a corner into a new franchise, led by young star Connor Bedard.
And it's showing, as a goalie from the last franchise team and a goalie from the rebuilding team have both retired.
Antti Raanta decided to hang up the skates on Sunday. Raanta was on the Blackhawks in 2013 when the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and 2014 when they lost in the Western Conference Finals to the Los Angeles Kings.
Raanta had a sub 900 SV% in 2013, but in 2014, played in 12 games and had a 1.89 GAA and a .936 SV.%.
Alex Stalock joined the Blackhawks in 2022 to backup Petr Mrazek. Stalock actually did pretty well all things considered for that season, putting up a 3.01 GAA and a .908 SV%.
Stalock is going to do what Scott Darling did, and join the San Jose Sharks broadcast team as a rotating color commentator.
