A Familiar Face Scored The Game Winning Goal For His New Team
Draft day is typically a happy day for NHL fans and prospects across the world. Unfortunately for Blackhawks fans, there was more sorrow than happiness.
The Blackhawks lost two young guys who were a key to the minimal success the team saw in 2021-22. DeBrincat was traded to the Senators for the pick that resulted in Kevin Korchinski, and Kirby Dach was traded to Montreal for the pick that resulted in Frank Nazar.
As sad as it is, we need to be happy for them as fans. Especially when they light the lamps for their new teams like we saw with Alex DeBrincat:
To add salt to the wound, here you can also see DeBrincat's OT winner in their 5-4 win over Montreal.
DeBrincat is primed for success in an up-and-coming Senators squad that has added enough pieces to make them playoff hopefuls for the upcoming season following a 33-42-7 finish to 2021-22.
