Arizona Coyotes Former 3rd Round Pick Does Them Dirty
The Arizona Coyotes picked a promising prospect during the third round of the 2019 NHL draft. That prospect was John Farinacci.
John Farinacci committed to Harvard University and developed into a point-per-game player while adding size and strength.
Despite expectations of returning to Harvard this year to continue his development, it was unclear if he would.
Contrary to previous information, John Farinacci had indicated to #Yotes that he will turn pro with another team
He will become a free agent on August 15 unless Arizona trades his rights
Farinacci surprised the coyotes by announcing his decision to go pro instead of returning to Harvard for another year.
He notified the Coyotes in April that he intends to become a free agent if they do not trade his rights. He can then sign with any team he chooses.
The news has spread throughout the NHL that he is linked to the Boston Bruins, who need more center depth since David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron have retired.
Due to his friendship with Matthew Coronato, he has also been linked to the Calgary Flames.
For a team on the verge of rebuilding, this is a major blow given the last few years have been nothing but problems.
