BREAKING: Alexander Ovechkin Has Left The Washington Capitals For Personal Reasons
The Washington Capitals are apart of the NHL's Metropolitan divison playoff race that is now consisting of over five teams, the Capitals hold the Metro's #1 wildcard spot, but have the Pittsburgh Penguins behind them trailing just one point. The Florida Panthers and New York Islanders are also chasing the #1 wild card spot, both teams just two points away.
The Capitals are set to face off the second best team in the entire NHL tonight, that being the Carolina Hurricanes, and it's a must-win scenario for the Capitals and it would be huge to steal two points. If a loss is taken, they could easily fall out of their wildcard spot.
It will be challenging, as the Washington Capitals senior vice president and GM Brian MacLellan has announced that Alexander Ovechkin has left the NHL momentarily to attend a serious family members, which revolves around the health of a loved one.
Washington Capitals senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today that captain Alex Ovechkin will be away from the team to attend to a family matter and the health of a loved one.
We wish Ovi the best, and hope he takes the proper amount of time away as needed.
