The news came after a crushing 5-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Nikita is 28 years old and was a first round pick by the Buffalo Sabres back in 2013. Zadorov currently has 1 goal and 4 assists, tallying up to 5 points in 12 games and a -6.
Could the former Hawks d-man make a return to Chicago? Well, Nikita is 28, so he won't necessarily fit the rebuild mold. However, we're looking to compete in the next couple years. By then, he'd be 30-31 years old. It could be nice to have that veteran, big body defender on the blue line to balance out the young guys who'd be going on their first playoff run.
But the likelihood of Davidson trading for Zadorov is very low. Right now, his best spot is probably the Maple Leafs. Toronto is a very soft team on both ends and could use a boost. He's very physical and loves to hit, so he would bring that physical intensity into Toronto, which is something they desperately need.
At the current moment if he were to be traded, a team would probably overpay a little. Expect him to be dealt for a first round pick, maybe even some spare change.
