BREAKING - NHL Team Granted Permission to Build Brand New Arena
The Calgary Flames have been looking to get an upgrade to their stadium, and now it is official.
In 2019, the Flames and the city mayor agreed to develop plans for a new stadium, but that never ended up coming to fruition.
Now there is a new mayor in Jyoti Gondek, and she has agreed to restart the process and develop plans for a new stadium for the Flames.
There are reports that the roof at the Scotiabank Saddledome (current home of the Flames since 1983) has damage. This is a concern to the city and its fans, as no one wants to be injured going to a game.
