Matthew Tkachuk has recently informed the Calgary Flames that he will not be signing with the team long-term, Tkachuk's frustration sparked after Johnny Gaudreau left Calgary to play closer to home in a Columbus Blue Jackets jersey.
The Calgary Flames fan base is currently burning in a dumpster fire at the moment and a Matthew Tkachuk trade will have officially ruined their franchise. Calgary is well aware of there current teams well being and is doing everything in there power to keep Tkachuk, they have offered him a contract with a near average of $11 million dollars per season and even offered him the captaincy leadership role of the team but Tkachuk declined.
NHL Talk Radio Host Adam Vingan confirms that the Nashville Predators are currently in talks with the Calgary Flames in regards to Matthew Tkachuk's rights, he mentioned the pieces are currently unknown but this is the first team that is actually in talks for Tkachuk.
The St.Louis Blues were not very well in talks with the flames but tossed out a offer to see where Tkachuk's value stands, the blues offered breakout young player Jordan Kyrou, Torey Krug and a 1st round pick the Flames declined.
If Nashville does acquire Tkachuk, it's been stated a top line caliber player and a top prospect plus a first round pick is needed and will take a dent on a franchise.
