His start could not have gone any better.
The Connor Bedard era started with a bang when the budding superstar notched his first hat trick in an NHL uniform, along with four points and 11 shots. The Blackhawks won the game five to nothing against the Saint Louis Blues in the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase.
After such an amazing night, the Blackhawks' organization decided to give their new leader the night off as the team squared off against the Minnesota Wild in Saint Paul.
In this game, the second of a back-to-back, it was the Wild who were more dominant and successful, winning the game 7-4. It's been quite the summer for Mr. Bedard as he prepares himself to become an NHL superstar.
The media fanfare and constant attention he's been getting have been handled by him rather well, showing that he is becoming a true professional in this league so early on.
Even in these two rookie games, it's evident that Bedard is ready for the NHL and will begin his journey as the NHL training camps open this Friday, September 22nd.
