The Blackhawks have been really unlucky, with a lot of their prospects getting hurt. Lukas Reichel came out of concussion protocol unsaved, but two remain. Paul Ludwinski and Colton Dach.
Paul Ludwinski was drafted this year at pick #39 in the 2nd round by the Hawks. He is 18 years old and currently plays for the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He had 16 goals and 27 assists, having 43 points on the season. He has a high ceiling and it's sad to see him go down in the Prospect Showcase. Paul is currently being evaluated, as we do not know his injury or how significant his injury may be if he has one.
Colton Dach was drafted in 2021 and was pick #62 in the 2nd round during the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He is 19 years old and has played for 2 teams, both in the WHL. He used to play for the Saskatoon Blades, and he was a 2030-point player. Then he went to the Kelowna Rockets, where he had 29 goals and 50 assists, racking up 79 points on the year. That was Colton's breakout season, and all Hawks fans were optimistic of what was to come from the young skater. He is currently under concussion protocol.
We all hope nothing but the best for these guys, and hope to see them back on the ice soon.
