Generation after generation the NHL greats pass the torch, so to speak, down to the next crop of break through NHL rookies, who look to become the next ones.
In 2015, exactly 10 years after Sidney Crosby was selected in the 05 NHL Draft by the Penguins - Connor McDavid got to stake his claim as heir-apparent to the top of the best NHL players list.
So, naturally the question emerges about whose next, but also how much longer remains in Crosby's Hall of Fame career.
The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native's plan for the future were discussed recently via the 32 thoughts podcast with Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman.
Crosby went in to say, «No I don't think so, I don't want to say no, but I'm leaning towards that not being the case. You know I'm thinking about 3 more years and then seeing what happens from there. I know it doesn't do me any good to look past that.» replied the Pittsburgh Penguins captain to Friedman, asking if he wishes to continue playing in three years when his current deal expires.
