Blackhawks Young Star forced to leave the team on their road trip
The Chicago Blackhawks are rebuilding and need all the bodies they can get on the ice. An injury on Friday will however cost them a prospect.
Alex Vlasic suffered an injury during a game against the Vegas Golden Knights after taking a hit from Knights Brett Howden.
There's no head contact, but Alex Vlasic took a high hit and was shaken up on the play. He went to the locker room. #Blackhawks
As Vlasic was off-balance, Howden would hit him high, making the hit completely unnecessary.
Having just recorded his third assist of the season, Vlasic left the game in the third period.
Alex Vlasic is in concussion protocol and was sent home to Chicago. Isaak Phillips will play tomorrow. Due to Howden's hit, Vlasic has been sent home and is currently in concussion protocol without a return date.
Blackhawks have called up Isaak Phillips in the wake of Vlasic's injury. It's a deserved opportunity for Phillips; hopefully he gets to play some
As a result of Vlasic's absence, the Blackhawks will call up Isaak Philips to fill the void. They may have to eventually consider relying upon Nikita Zaitsev as well depending upon how bad things get.
