It's been a turbulent last number of days in the Columbus Blue Jackets organization after allegations surfaced that newly appointed head coach Mike Babcock, who has only been on the job for 2 1/2 months, was making players uncomfortable with his tactics in trying to connect with them.

The NHLPA was called upon to investigate these allegations, and after several days, new information was released regarding the scope of the issue.

It has come to light that Mike Babcock attempted to connect with his players by looking through their personal photos and other data on their phones. These allegations gained widespread attention when they were revealed on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, where Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney shared their views on the matter.

Shortly after, both Babcock and team captain Boone Jenner jointly released statements expressing their feelings and thoughts about the situation.

Now that the investigation appears to be concluded, the NHLPA executive, Blue Jackets management, and Mike Babcock have decided that it's in the best interest of the team for him to part ways. A new head coach will be announced for the upcoming season.

This decision was made swiftly, and Pascal Vincent has been named the new head coach, signing a two-year contract extension that will last until 2025.

It's safe to say that these events have taken an unexpected turn.
