Trevor Zegras and Connor Bedard both hit the Michigan goal last night, also known as the 'lacrosse move', and it garnered attention from the entire league as well as The Great One, Wayne Gretzky:
Wayne Gretzky on Connor Bedard's Michigan during the Blues' broadcast: "I couldn't do what he did. It wasn't in my repertoire."
With Bedard's goal capturing so much attention, it's resulted in not just NHL legends speaking out, but former NHL enforcers calling for the move to be banned:
If there is no high stick on the play, there is no reason why the 'Michigan' should be banned. If Gary Bettman and the NHL want to continue capturing attention of the media, the Michigan/lacrosse move is the last thing they should ban.
