The NHL trade deadline is just a little over a month away. Each day it seems there's a little more buzz regarding trade rumors and speculations. The Canucks kicked off the trade season by trading away Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders. Bo Horvat was a big name heading towards the trade deadline, but with him being dealt, there's now more buzz for Patrick Kane. Recently, a former Blackhawk mentioned wanting to be reunited with Kaner once again.
Artemi «Breadman» Panarin recently mentioned that he «would love» to be reunited with Kane. In an article posted by Bleacher Nation Blackhawks, they wrote, «According to Walker (and common sense for those of us who watched them play together in Chicago, Artemi Panarin "would love" to play with Patrick Kane again.»
If you recall, the Blackhawks brought in Panarin as a free agent before the 2015-16 season. Panarin would be paired with Kane on the opposite wing while Anisimov centered the line. Panarin posted 77 points in his rookie season. Following that season, he posted 74 points. Kane and Panarin were a force to reckon with, but the Hawks did not have enough salary cap to pay Panarin what he earned, so they were left with no option but to trade him to the Blue Jackets after the 2016-17 season.
It's been almost 6 years since Kane and Panarin have played together. Both players are older and Kane has been bothered by a nagging hip injury. If the Rangers do pursue a trade for Kane, it's safely assured chemistry will not be hard to come by between Kane and Panarin.
