Friendly Fire at NHL Development Camp Leaves Player Concussed
In a rare and unfortunate incident at an NHL development camp, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Roni Hirvonen took a bone-crushing hit from his own teammate, Nolan Dillingham.
The impact was so severe that Hirvonen fell back and hit his head on the ice, leaving him motionless.
Thankfully, Hirvonen was able to eventually leave the ice on his own, but it was later confirmed that he had suffered a concussion.
The incident serves as a reminder of the physicality and risks involved in the game of hockey.
