Head Coach Luke Richardson Issues An Emotional Statement on Calgary Flames Chris Snow
There has been a huge loss in the hockey community and in the Snow family, as Chris Snow fought valiantly against ALS.
In 2019, the Calgary Flames assistant GM was diagnosed with ALS and given a short life expectancy. Although he faced adversity throughout the year, he beat it until 2023 when he passed away.
Luke Richardson: "We're thinking about the Calgary Flames, especially Chris Snow's family. It's an awful thing, a tragedy. But the hockey community is close. I know for sure myself, when something like that happens, the support is huge. We just wanted to send out our thoughts."
By Saturday, wife Kelsie reported that he had died after suffering cardiac arrest on Wednesday.
The Blackhawks' head coach Luke Richardson expressed support for the Snow family and the Flames. His thoughts are with Kelsie and the kids.
While he started as a sports reporter with the Minnesota Wild and Boston Red Sox, the assistant GM of the Flames had a long road to the Flames organization.
Over the course of four years, he worked his way up to become the Wild's director of hockey operations. In 2011, he joined the Flames as a director of video and statistical analysis, and in 2019, was promoted to assistant general manager.
The hockey community has been devastated by the death of Chris Snow on September 30th, 2023. Condolences are extended to the Snow family from all of us here.
