Two Players Between Two Original 6 Teams Get In A Heated Confrontation
During the game between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, Alex Vlasic showed some carelessness.
After kneeing Red Wings prospect Elmer Soderblom, he was ejected from the game. Yes, that brother of Chicago goalkeeper Arvid.
Alex Vlasic is ejected from the game for kneeing Elmer Soderblom the brother of #Blackhawks goaltender Arvid Soderblom. In the aftermath of the knee-to-knee fight, Simon Edvinsson was ready to go at Alex Vlasic. Vlasic, of course would receive five minutes for the knee on Soderblom, 2 more minutes for roughing and a game misconduct.
But Arvid wasn't on the ice tonight, as Elmer rebounded and the Red Wings obliterated the Blackhawks 6-1.
The NHL Department of Player Safety has not yet confirmed whether Vlasic will be disciplined.
Since they are the outside observers in all of this, they have not issued a statement yet, but if they review the play, they will discipline as they see fit.
