Petr Mrazek was the starting goaltender before he got hurt. The Hawks made an official statement on October 23 that he had suffered a groin strain. He is 30 years old, and came over from the Toronto Maple Leafs in a trade. Petr has a 1-1 record, with a nasty looking 3.76 goals against per game.
Mrazek's save percentage is .909; which isn't that bad to say the least, add in the 3.76 GAA. In his defense, the defense hasn't been great this year, as all fans expected.
Alex Stalock has been doing great for a backup, and is so fun to watch. He didn't start the game against the Buffalo Sabres, and Arvid Söderblom had an amazing showing as well, tying the record for most danger saves with Corey Crawford. Sadly Stalock is hurt as well, and it seems to be concussion issues after he was smoked by a Islanders player.
We may have a date on Petr's return. The Hawks are hopeful we may see Mrazek as the net-minder as soon as November 9th, their California road trip. During the trip to the West Coast, they are scheduled to face the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angelas Kings on November 10th and 12th.
