Jake Allen signs extension with Montreal

The Montreal Canadiens have extended goaltender Jake Allen through the next two seasons. His contract is worth $7.7 million with a $3.85 million AAV. He will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2024-2025 season.
Last season, Allen played in 35 games with 35 starts; he also recorded two shutouts with a .905 save percentage. With an overall 2.6 GAA, he could be a solid starting goalie in Montreal for the time being.
It's unlikely Carey Price will return as the starting goaltender for the Canadiens, so it's not surprising Allen was offered the extension. The more he plays for Montreal, the more fans will start to believe in him.
