Blackhawks prospect Landon Slaggert is poised to have a big season at the University of Notre Dame. Slaggert was named an alternate captain for Notre Dame for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.
Slaggert was selected 79th overall in the 2020 NHL draft by Chicago. Slaggert has spent the last two seasons playing for Notre Dame, where he amassed a total of 48 points in 65 games played. Slaggert was also an alternate captain for the USA U20 team this past season. Slaggert tallied 6 points in 5 games.
Slaggert is known for his ability to play on both sides of the ice, in the offensive and defensive zones. He has the skills to play a top line role or a bottom six role. His versatility makes him an intriguing prospect that the Blackhawks are lucky to have. It will be interesting to see how Slaggert develops, but he has the potential to be a nice piece of the Blackhawks future.
