James Reimer Was Gets Trolled with Pride Flag
As a result of the Pride Jersey controversy last season, tempers flared on both sides of the ice.
There was a lot of anger among fans when several players refused to wear the warmups, which would later be auctioned off to benefit local charities.
Some teams may have had to cancel pride nights, but the league let the players go without punishment for taking warmups. This seems in direct conflict with their CBA, right?
James Reimer, the goalie of the Detroit Red Wings, refused to participate in the event. Similar to other NHL players, he cited his religious beliefs as a reason to skip warmups.
Successfully gave James Reimer a pride flag. Gonna be riding this high for the rest of my life man #LGRW
»He smiled and asked what my name was and where I was from, carried it through the whole rest of the line and into his truck with him. He did roll it up and hold it by the actual flag at one point but he held it open for a while,» she said when asked about Reimer's reaction.
This weekend, Reimer was handed a pride flag, which he carried to his truck and through the rest of the line. After that, he would take it back to his truck and hold it open there.
»There's a distinct possibility he has no idea what it was lolol,» she said.
As well as the message behind the flag, the fan was unsure whether Reimer understood it.
