It's been a rough off-season for some around the National Hockey League. Sometimes players on expiring deals think their phone is going to ring off the hook when free agency rolls around and it just doesn't.
That seems to be the case with 2013 Norris Trophy winner P.K Subban, who after being told by the New Jersey Devils he lost his spot, has been unable to find a new home. His luck may be about to change, though. Granted, he's not the Subban of old, he might be able to find a home with a rebuilding team in need of a little offensive touch.
According to Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now and NBC Sports, there appears to be mutual interest in bringing P.K to California.
After trading Brent Burns to the Carolina hurricanes earlier this summer, there's certainly a role for Subban on the Sharks blueline. Now, what does that contract look like? I have no idea, but on the right deal, it could work out extremely well for both sides.
