During yesterday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, Patrick Kane earned the 764th assist of his NHL career on Max Domi's goal at the end of the third period. The American winger made an exceptional backhand pass to Max Domi, who put it past Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner. With this pass, Kane overtakes Chris Chelios on the list of U.S.-born skaters of all time.
After the game, Max Domi made it clear he considers Patrick Kane "one of the best passers of all time and in the NHL"
Phil Housley (894) is the American NHL player with the most assists in history. Mike Modano (813) and Brian Leetch (781) round out the top 3, putting Kane just 17 assists behind Leetch and 130 assists from Housley.
