Player Kicked Out of The Game For Questionable Hit

It was a game between Slovakia and America in the IIHF World Juniors Tournament. The Slovaks were leading the Americans 4-2.
Kenny Connors laid a hit on one of the Slovakian players, and got kicked out for the hit.
It looked to be a late hit, but him not having his head up made it look worse. I understand the call, but I think Kenny getting kicked out for that is a little too much. But I also understand that for the World Junior level, that hit is extremely dangerous and cannot be tolerated.
