Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin surprised everyone by joining the team's practice this morning (Dec. 14). This is a positive development following Larkin's recent injury during the game against the Ottawa Senators on Dec. 9.
Larkin took a hit to the head and neck from Senators winger Mathieu Joseph, which resulted in him being knocked out. Although he left the ice without needing a stretcher, concerns about his health arose. Head coach Derek Lalonde later stated that Larkin would be out for 'a while' and he was placed on IR.
Now, with Larkin back at practice, there's optimism. While his immediate return to game action is uncertain, the fact that he's back on the ice is a good sign. The hope is that Larkin's recovery continues without any setbacks, and he gets the clearance to rejoin the lineup soon.
