After reports of a sexual assault that took place during the 2003 World Junior Hockey Championships, Hockey Canada is finally cooperating after having their funding frozen by the Federal Government.
Since then multiple players of the Team Canada's 2003 team have issued statements including Carlo Colaiacovo, and Jordan Tootoo denying their involvement in the alleged event.
However this investigation has taken a turn after the first time since the investigation was launched a player has issued a statement WITHOUT denying his involvement.
Right now Team Canada has two investigations from 2003 and 2018 this is the first player to not deny anything. That player is former NHL'er Scottie Upshall. Who would share comments on his Twitter account
"I fully support thorough investigations by the police and the NHL into the claims made in the media yesterday about Canada's 2003 World Juniors team." -Scottie Upshall
Upshall who played in 759 career games in the NHL was Captain of the 2003 World Junior team. All though this doesn't mean Upshall is guilty many compared the difference to other statements issued and how Upshall didn't deny involvement.
