Injuries are an unfortunate aspect of hockey, and sometimes they can be quite disturbing to witness. Over the years, countless players have been forced to leave the game for extended periods or have had their careers cut short due to concussions, torn groins, or other serious injuries.
One of the most severe injuries in professional sports, including hockey, is a concussion. This injury is invisible from the outside but can cause significant harm to any player.
During a game between the Ottawa Senators and the New York Islanders, Erik Brannstrom received a check from Cal Clutterbuck, and his head hit the ice directly.
What appeared to be a harmless and clean body check turned into a disaster when Brannstrom went back first and hit his head squarely on the ice.
Several tense minutes passed, and Brannstrom had to be stretchered off the ice while all the players stood and watched in the hope that he was okay.
It seemed that he was knocked out on the play, which made it even more alarming. We hope that Brannstrom has a swift recovery and returns to his season as soon as possible.
