The Blackhawks are going to be sellers at this year's deadline, but this one name has my eye on them.
Tyler Johnson is 32 years old and was acquired in a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Injuries have nailed him over the past couple years, with him playing a total of 49 games the past two seasons. Tyler was a household name with the Lightning, not having too many points but being a valuable player to have out on the ice. With the last season with Tampa Bay, he had 22 points in 55 games.
Johnson has 5 goals and 10 assists, totaling up to 15 points in only 23 games. That's pretty impressive. However, he's missed tons of games this season, he has a lingering ankle injury that may slow down his production and even sideline him for more games this season.
Tyler Johnson is under contract for the next two years at $5 million dollars. We'll most likely trade him at next season's trade deadline for some picks, since he would be the age of 33 and have our feet deep in the rebuild process.
