As a result, he held the second least amount of ice time against the Dallas Stars, playing only 12 minutes, and the Blackhawks suffered a humiliating 4-1 loss.

This treatment of Mitchell by the Blackhawks organization is unacceptable and disrespectful to a player who has worked hard to earn his place on the team, just to be replaced by awful veteran defenders, despite the Blackhawks being in a full-on rebuild. Mitchell deserves better than to be left in the dark about his status on the team and then be thrown into a new position with little notice or preparation.
