This morning, Draft Kings provided an updated betting odds of who will win the Stanley Cup this year. To no surprise, the Blackhawks were not at the top of the list, or anywhere near the top. With that being a surprise to nobody, who is at the top of the list?
The top team with the best odds is the Colorado Avalanche (+450). That's not much of a surprise as they've been a favorite since the beginning of the season, though their odds have slightly dropped from +400. The Avs returned a large majority of their Stanley cup winning roster, so they have already proven that their roster can win a Stanley Cup. In second place are the red hot Boston Bruins with odds of +550. The Bruins have been an unstoppable force. The Bruins have played 13 games at home, and have won 13 games at home. They have an overall record of 19-3. Not much to say about that besides - wow. The Golden Knights coke in third with +900 and the New Jersey Devils at fourth with odds of +1000.
These are only odds and the season is still young. Injuries can happen, and trades can happen - plenty of time for so much to happen. If the playoffs started today, I'd have to take the Bruins, especially considering their play at home and overall record. A Bruins / Avs Stanley Cup Final would be a fun, competitive series to watch.
