The NHL makes a major controversial change affective this year
The NHL is making changes to the All-Star game, bringing back excitement for fans.
They promised a revamp, and for the 2024 All-Star Game in Toronto, there's a completely new skills competition. Responding to fan complaints that the event lacked skill showcase, only 12 players will participate in eight events.
Points will be given based on their performance, and the top scorer gets a significant $1 million prize. Events include Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Stick Handling, One Timers, Passing Challenge, Accuracy Shooting, The NHL Shootout (top 8 players), and The NHL Obstacle Course (top 6 players).

While there's room for improvement, this change is a positive step based on fan feedback. It remains to be seen how well the new format works, but it could inject new life into an event that lost its shine in recent years.
