If you've been watching any of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, its almost certain that you've heard a variety of chants from the home team. Whether it be chanting, «we want the cup», or a long, drawn out, calling the name of the opposing goaltender to get in his head, or simply chanting «let's go (team name),» it's sure to be heard and noticed. The chants and the cheers are a part of what makes playoff hockey so special. However, there is a special «chant» you may have heard or noticed when watching the Avalanche and it's arguably the coolest thing hockey right now.
Around the ten minute mark in the third period of every home game, Avalanche fans breech the sound barrier as they sing «All the Small Things» by Blink-812. Ball Arena, home of the Avalanche, holds nearly 20,000 fans. Each and every one of these 20,000 fans partake in the singing. It's deafening. It's sure to get the Avs players pumped up, all while putting the visiting team further on edge. Each game it sounds as if somehow it's louder and that much more deafening.
It's the coolest thing in hockey right now. It's not a surprise to see hockey fans of other teams singing along to «All the Small Things» - unless they're a Tampa Bay Lightning fan. Other teams have tried to do something similar, such as Dallas Stars fans singing «Livin' on a Prayer» by Bon Jovi. However, the energy within the city of Denver and Ball Arena can't be replicated at this moment. With the Avs only 2 wins away from hoisting the Stanley Cup, the singing is only going to get louder. If you haven't seen it, it's worth tuning in for - even if you're not a hockey fan. It's just *that* cool.
