The first ever PWHL suspension has been handed out following dirty hit
In a historic moment for women's hockey, Taylor Wenczkowski has found herself on the wrong side of history with the first-ever suspension in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).
The league announced the suspension following a high hit delivered by Wenczkowski to Ottawa's Amanda Boulier during a game on Saturday.
"Boston's Taylor Wenczkowski suspended for one game for this hit on Ottawa's Amanda Boulier."
This suspension mirrors those seen in the National Hockey League (NHL) for similar hits, and while Wenczkowski holds the unfortunate distinction of being the first, it's likely she won't be the last.
