As NHL insider Greg Wyshynski reported, the league is considering the possibility of moving their outdoor games outside of the country in the near future.
This is one of the countries where the league may opt to play outdoor games, with Mexico City, Mexico being one of these countries.
"It's certainly something that we are looking very, very carefully at," Proper said. "There's some things we got to figure out if we're going to make it work." - Proper
As the NHL's SEVP of Media and International Strategy, Wyshynski was informed by the League's SEVP of Media and International Strategy that the league would like to have its first outdoor game outside of North America, and Mexico City has piqued the interest of the league.
Since the two games between the Los Angeles Kings and Arizona Coyotes played in Melbourne, Australia during the Global Series were a huge success for both teams, the league is looking to expand into unique markets as a way to keep growing the game throughout the world.
