According to Cooper Godin, of Markerzone, and Elliote Friedman, Andreas Johnsson (New Jersey) and Max Willman (Philadelphia) have been placed on waivers by their respective teams.
Johnsson is a 28-year old forward who has appeared in just two games for the Devils this season. In his career he has tallied 113 points in 248 games, so he definitely has the ability to play at the NHL level. With New Jersey doing so well this year, there just hasn't been room for Johnsson at the NHL level. It is a wise move to let him walk so he can find a new opportunity to continue his career.
Max Willman is a 27-year old center who doesn't have much experience in the league. Besides his nine games played this season, he has just 41 other career games, which all came last year. In those 41 games he managed just 6 points. With a lack of experience and his nearing 28-years old, it may be tough for Willman to find a consistent role at the NHL level.
Johnsson can be a nice addition to a middle-pack team who may be looking to add depth for the remainder of the season.
