The Chicago Blackhawks are expected to lose a player or two during the upcoming expansion draft for the Seattle Kraken. Now it looks like they'll also be losing a key piece of their front office. According to Blackhawks' insiders Mark Lazerus and Scott Powers, Norm Maciver will be the leaving the Blackhawks as assistant general manager to join the Seattle Kraken's front office. The duo report that despite Maciver taking a key part in the team's success over the years, he felt he was getting pushed outside by Bowman's recent changes. "Multiple sources said Maciver felt that he had been cut out of the inner circle by Bowman and Al MacIsaac in recent seasons as the internal push and pull between rebuilding and trying to squeeze one last Cup run out of the core intensified. One of the few occasional voices of dissent in the front office, Maciver was marginalized and, according to one team source, eventually ignored altogether. «They iced him out,» the source said. «They thought he was too negative.»According to Lazerus and Powers, Maciver was the likely successor for Bowman at one point in time, however with the recent direction of a rebuild, he's been left out.
