The score ended up 5-4 with the Kings taking the win, as they had Viktor Arvidsson with two goals, followed up with Adrian Kempe's goal in OT to secure the victory.
However, during the match NHL fans weren't so sure that the Kings were playing honestly.
They felt like the Kings were trying to throw the match in order to miss playing the NHL's 2nd best team, the Edmonton Oilers.
With the win, the Kings would end up 3rd in the Pacific and despite their attempts to lose, if they weren't playing up to par, they will face their Pacific Division rivals in the Oilers on Monday, as the playoffs begin soon.
The Vegas Golden Knights were another team in the Pacific who were accused of doing the same thing.
The Edmonton Oilers must be scary with Kris Knoblauch in charge if Jim Hiller is trying to lose to score against a different opponent in the playoffs.
The Oilers have defeated the Kings in their regular season series, 3-1-0, while the Kings are 1-2-1 against the Oilers.
It would've ended the season on a high note if Head Coach Richardson was able to put a stake in the heart of the Kings' last regular season game, however, it just wasn't meant to be.
