Federal decision made on truck driver who crashed into Broncos bus
Humboldt Broncos truck driver who crashed into team bus faces decision by court
When you think about moments that the entire hockey community has came together as one to show support, it was sure in 2018 when Jaskirat Singh Sidhu crashed into the Humboldt Broncos team bus.
Now, six years later the federal immigration office has made the decision to deport Sidhu back to India.
'Jaskirat Singh Sidhu's lawyer did not contest the decision, noting the official had «limited discretion», because all that is required to deport Sidhu is proof he is not a Canadian citizen and has committed a serious crime.
A permanent resident is someone who has been given permanent resident status in Canada but is not yet a Canadian citizen. Sidhu became a permanent resident a month before the crash that left 16 people dead and 13 others injured.'
13 people sustained serious injuries and 16 people sadly passed away, leaving a forever dark light on the hockey community. Cases regarding Sidhu have been going on since the investigation launched in 2018, and this appears to be the final ruling.
